Our Pledge and Commitment (and what we have achieved so far)

  • • We have already assembled an experienced dedicated Committee who are well traveled and well respected in the hashing world.
  • • We have already assembled an experienced Event organizing team as we did in previous Interhash events in Indonesia (Jakarta and Bali). 
  • • We have already prepared a Financial budget and Business plan to outline our bid.  
  • • We have already actively promoted our bid and asked other well known and experienced Hashers to advocate our bid by the way of ambassadors (the support of the Java Hash Clubs).  
  • • We have already traveled to the ends of the earth to promote our bid.
  • • We have already carried out fund raising from Sponsors to support our Bid.  
  • • We have already secured Financial sponsors who are Tourism based with funds to support the bid.
  • • We pledge to keep the cost of hosting Interhash as economical and affordable as possible for all.  
  • • We have secured enough local ground support to host an Interhash to provide the world Hashing fraternity a Hashing holiday of a lifetime.  
  • • We will host the 2012 Interhash weekend out of Peak Tourist Season so as to be as affordable as possible for all participants, and as announced in Perth, our dates are 25th, 26th & 27th May 2012. It’s also ‘Low Season’ in Indonesia, so NO high surcharges for Flights and Hotels. And the weather will be dry. 
  • • There will be a ‘Hash Help’ desk at the Airport.
  • • We will provide Security measures including Police, Military Police and Army both inside and outside the event AND at each participating hotel and official Hash Pub. Each Run convoy will have a Police Escort to and from the run to bypass traffic jams and lights. 
  • • We will keep Registration prices as affordable as possible.
  • • Before the Bid result Registration will be only US$100 for the first 300 Hashers.. The when we win the Bid it will be US$120 for the first 2 months, then US$150 after that.
  • • No charge on transfer of registrations.    
  • • Registration will be fast and easy.     
  • • Goody bag Backpacks will contain 2 t-shirts (one with no sponsors on), Red Cap, Towel, Embroided Patch, Magazine and Event info Map.
  • • Free shuttle buses between the Airport, Hotels and the event venues.  
  • • We will offer a minimum of 45 different run sites over a 3 day period. Each location will be screened for safety, parking facilities, level of difficulty of runs, variety of scenery etc. 
  • • We will stage a Red Dress Run around historic Magalang City.
  • • We will stage a Ball Breaker Run, Old Farts Run, etc.  
  • • We will organize Pre and Post Runs in neighboring Indonesian Tourist attractions, Bali, Lombok, Jakarta, etc.
  • • We will organize a Great Train Hash from Jakarta to Bandung to Jogjakarta.
  • • There will be a large official ‘Hash Pub’ in the city where everyone can meet for a cold beer. (with Bintang Beer girls serving Ice Cold Beer)
  • • We will hold a Down Down Competition on stage.
  • • We will stage Interhash Hash games as there were in the early days.
  • • We will assist hashers with additional Java Tours with special discounts for Inter hashers. (Some of our local Hashers are Travel Agents)
  • • We will provide a full Financial report to participants by post within six months after the event. Also produce and distribute a wrap up magazine and video cd of the event.
  • • We will provide open disclosure on the hosting of Interhash 2012 in Java.
  • • We will continue to use the same voting system as used in Cardiff, Chiang Mai, Perth and Kuching. 

At the end of the day Hashing is supposed to be Affordable and Fun!
